I’m thinking about getting ferrets at least a year from now, but I wanted to know if the single ferret nation is suitable for two ferrets or if the double is recommended. I’m a minor and I don’t have an income source so I’m trying to find a cheaper, but quality alternative to a double ferret nation(I was also considering the feisty ferret cage but I heard is wasn’t good quality and the shelves are too small).

A single should be fine for 2 ferrets. Start saving money for a cage and vet bills. Look online for used cages.

Yes, save the money and get the ferret nation! Way better choice! I have a single ferret and he has a double ferret nation. Yes, I spoiled my ferret.
If you get a newer model of a single ferret nation, you can always get an add-on later to make it bigger! You can even make it a triple and adding another add-on later if your business grows when you get older.

Older ferret nation model 141/142 newer single unit is 181, double is 182. critter nation is similar with different bars but is fine for ferrets. these are the most recommended cages, because they are soooo easy to clean. ferrets are pretty good about using litter boxes in the cage, but they can be a holes when mad. If you have 2 ferrets you will want to clean the cage. or at least scoop litter 2x/day. make it easier on yourself so you can spend more time with them and less dealing with the mess. I've had 5 other cages and believe me, these 2 are best, so get one before you get ferrets. And ferret math can strike. DON'T get caught like i did original crew by unclejoe1158, on Flickr
