Hello,
I need HELP! My ferret chewed a 10 mg Biotin soft gel (Nature's Bounty) that accidentally fell on the floor, I noticed seconds after and I was able to remove the soft gel from him, but the liquid inside the vitamin was already gone! What should I do?? He seems normal so far but this was just an hour ago, he just ate some chicken soup. Any guidance? is Sunday its very hard to find a Vet, also I just moved to Toronto 6 months ago, any vets recommendations in Toronto, please?
Thank you.

A quick googling tells me biotin can lower blood glucose, so keep honey or maple syrup on hand to rub on the gums and watch for signs or sleepiness or seizures. It’s water soluble, so give plenty of sopping wet foods or broths to help flush it out of system via pee quickly. If you just caught it and it’s still in the stomach, you can induce vomiting by syringing 0.5 mL of hydrogen peroxide into the mouth. Do this in a bathtub, the vomiting will be immediate and projectile.

Thank you so much! This was somewhat over an hour ago, maybe 80 mins now, I don't have hydrogen peroxide, I would have to run to the pharmacy, should I still induce the vomiting? After chewing the soft gel he ate some of the chicken soup (Holistic recipe) and we went to sleep... Should I give him water by syringe? or induce?

Also, additional to the 10 mgs of Biotin, it contains Non-medical ingredients: Gelatin (Bovine/Porcine), Glycerin, Soybean oil, Purified Water, Titanium Dioxide, Yellow beeswax)
Any thoughts?

Too late to induce vomiting by the time I found this, but for future reference if he eats another bad thing. The other ingredients are harmless. He should be ok aside from a possible blood sugar drop. Also, don’t feed any egg yolks for a week, he just ate the equivalent of 1000 egg yolks.

Hello, I need HELP! My ferret chewed a 10 mg Biotin soft gel (Nature's Bounty) that accidentally fell on the floor, A really simple solution would have been to feed raw egg white, as the avidin prevents biotin absorption, but I'm hoping all is well now?

Hi everyone! Thank you so much for your help and support! Noru (the one at the bottom of the profile photo) is fine. I followed your guidance or watching him and not inducing vomit since it was already too late. I watched his blood sugar and he seemed ok. Overall he was a little lethargic for like a day and didn't want to eat, but I fed him tons of water to get it out of his system via pee. He has been well since then, playful and hasn't had an egg since then. Thanks so much! =)
