it only tales one mistake. i religiously put all my shoes in my closet because Lilly and Scamp before her are notorious for stealing insoles. My insoles. Only my insoles. When we got home from shopping yesterday the fuzzbutts were all in the cage. I slipped off my $60, month old Asics work shoes and put up the groceries. 5 hours later, there's Lilly standing by my shoes, which were now in a different room, and of course one insole is missing. Haven't found it yet after searching her favorite hidey holes. And the entire house today while cleaning. Moved cabinets, turned over sofas, dug thru laundry, nothing. Why the heck did I fall in love with these little thieves? Here's why... That's her favorite stash spot

So cute! Nefertiti steals my insoles too; it is frustrating. It's a good thing they're cute!

Oh it’s taken me days to find insoles before, I sympathize. I feel like they’re being moved behind my back as I check place to place. Used to leave shoes on the floor, now we have an old decorative planter turned shoe tree, but occasionally a mistake is made.

How can you even get mad at that cute little face? She is so adorable!! Sorry about the insoles. Charlie doesn't steal or stash any of my stuff, just his own. lol

She is sooo cute! my dark sable passed away recently. Everybody liked her coloring the best. My waardie likes these flat furry critters that she will take up to the top floor of cage. Also she will place them beside her food stash sometimes. That last little habit she did even when she was a kit.
Do hope you find your insole. Got a trash can at our door for shoes but hubby usually keeps his inside shoes on the table---I do not say anything about it. He doesn't like getting them messed up with the others as we do live in a red clay area.

Mine love insoles too. I can't let them near shoes. They all have their little internists but insoles seem to be a common one.

It is not unknown, but I've had 30 ferrets now, and maybe 4 of them were insole stealers. Scamp was absolutely obsessed. It wouldn't take him a minute to find and strip an unguarded shoe. Poppy would steal whole shoes. What gets me is that they all only went after my shoes

We have one who enjoys insoles, but he loves to dig/rip them up instead of steal. And it's only my boyfriend's shoes, too. My work shoes and etc get to be on the bottom part of our shoe rack because he does not care for them.

I recently got insoles in my shoes and it has been a nightmare. I ordered a special box to put by the door just for my shoes, so I can stay ahead of the stinkers and keep my shoes safely tucked away. Granted, my partner is going to have to figure out his own solution because his stinky shoes are not being left in a box with mine!
