I know you aren’t supposed to bath your ferret very often but I usually bath mine once or twice a year and when I do he’s always really squirmy while I lather him up but when I put him under the warm water he just relaxes completely and squints his eyes. It kinda freaks me out and I’m not sure if he’s just enjoying the warm water or if it’s a stress response I should keep an eye on.

I'd say he enjoys the rinse. Why not just give him warm water baths? Shampoo strips the oils from his coat. He'd get cleaner more safely using a rice dig box regularly.

Many ferrets enjoy playing in water. They can swim very well. If they enjoy it, it could be a treat. When I bathe, I don't immerse. Just lather and rinse. But I"ve had a few that liked swimming in the bath tub and in a kiddie pool where we exercise our turtles during the summer.

Ooooo you are lucky yours likes baths!! Mine doesn't like his feet getting wet! haha He likes jumping in the tub for a drink of water. I'll put a cup of water in the tub and he usually drags it around and then finally dumps it over but when it spills out he jumps so his feet don't get wet! LOL Then he drinks the water. It's a game for him now.

I just love this video of ferrets getting a bath --the one laying on its back is so adorable.
