I made a thread similar to this a while ago on the other board, but I was pretty sure I fixed it. For about a month Titan has been using the litter box perfectly, not one accident (except for outside the cage). Well a few days ago, he decided that he's not gonna use the litter box at all. For the past few days he has absolutely refused to use the litter box. I tried going back down to one level and a single layer of fleece, but he then just eats and sleeps in the litter box and poops and pees in every other corner (even in his food bowl haha). So I opened it back up to all of the levels because it worries me when he eats out of the litter box because it sticks to his food. I have found poop in literally every corner except for the litter box. What can/should be done to fix this problem? I've decided that he's not coming out when he doesn't use the litter box, but when (more like if I guess) he actually does, he gets rewarded with being allowed to come out and getting a lot of attention. Does that sound like it could work or no?

It's tough, and I hope that someone else more knowledgeable comes along to help out too! Has nothing else changed at all? My ferret was litter trained until we brought a new younger one around who wasn't litter trained, then she up and decided if he wasn't going to poo in the box, she sure as heck wasn't going to either. Since then its been on and off.
Another thing is, if there is more than one other poop in the box, she will straight up NOT use it whereas others will. I have to clean it 1-3 times daily if I want her to go in the box. She'd rather poo 6 times in the same wrong spot than in a dirty box.
As far as keeping him in the cage, I find that only a few minutes worth of time out actually registers with a ferret. After that they will not make a connection. So, for instance, if I see a ferret about to go in the wrong spot, I will physically place them where they ought to go. If they resist and go off to poo in the wrong place again before I can put them where they need to, that's a time out. 2-4 minutes tops. If they stay in time out long enough to fall asleep, they just think it's time for me to go to work or something and don't get it. Behavior at that point will repeat.
I hope that helps some!

How long did you do the "boot camp" for? Because the first few days, he's liable to have protest poops, just for spite
