Hi there other humans with ferrets! This is my ferret Freya, she's 10 weeks old and is transitioning to raw. She does have a slight blaze marking but I've not gotten a photo of it yet, also she's not deaf. She's very responsive and sensitive to sounds and quite easily startled but hasn't chewed my hand off or fingers off at all even when she is like "WHAT'S THAT!?"

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new baby. She is so cute. I love babies. My blaze at 3-4 years old still acts like a baby lots of times, but she bites when she plays----biting my toes this morning with her needle teeth and running around dooking to get my attn. My Abbey had a slight blaze mark but she was ok too. Here is some info---You can skip the soupie stage with babies. holisticferretforum.com/natural-diet/raw-diet-the-meat-of-the-site/

What are your thoughts on that?

Read more: holisticferret60.proboards.com/thread/25315/hello-england?page=1#ixzz5uQPFvLabSounds like a great idea to me. Some have given up on mice because their ferrets would not eat them. If I am correct, it is the older ferrets---so yes, if you could get her to eat mice that would be great. I don't know how many chicks one would consider too much for the week as it is an immature animal. Maybe somebody will let you know.

You can start off with a pinky and see how she likes them. That's what I did with my ferret then progressed to hoppers then to adult mice. My ferret isn't a fan of chicken so I replaced that with mice.
Cute little kit, by the way!!!

Hello from the UK also. Am awaiting delivery of lots of stuff before a road trip to pick up two new Jills next weekend with any luck. Great looking fluffball.

However she ate the rat I gave her without any protesting, this was after "killing" it even though I had just defrosted it. So the next time I gave her a rat, I gave it frozen and she "killed" that one too before eating it. So far her diet is Chicken carcasses Rats And meaty lamb bones, she generally eats the muscles meat and fat off of those and the bone marrow of the bone is cut in half. I'm obviously going to be adding more to it very soon, as my local pet shop is getting chicks next time he goes to the wholesalers to get more stock. And I've also asked my grandad who keeps pigeons that if he culls any to let me have them for Freya
