I'm trying to find info on how well a ferret copes with a hind leg amputation. I haven't been able to find any info online. I'm worried that because of how a ferret has a long body that it may not cope well with a missing rear leg. Info or thoughts greatly appreciated.

Thérèse has a tripod. I don't know how much she's on but perhaps PMing her might get you an answer faster ciao

I have a trip pod. I think it really depends on the ferret. My guy plays, eats, and drinks like a normal ferret. Nothing stops him.

My Sumo was a tripod but he had a front leg amputated. He got along just fine without it. Having said that I will post the link to my deciding what to do and his recovery because I have a vague memory that one of the posts about other tripod ferrets doing fine was one with a hind leg amputation. Course the thread is very old now and the links and videos people posted may no longer work, but maybe it will help. Sumo's journey to becoming a tripod
