My 12 week old ferret I recently got has been testing positive for Giardia. I wouldn't have known if I didn't bring a stool sample to his wellness check. He's been on 5 days of Albon (which he took great ! Loved the stuff) and probiotics. After the retest, it seems the parasite got much worse :-(
He is now on Metronidazole for 10 days. I have read this stuff can be very hard to administer and causes a lot of stress for the ferret. Does anyone have any tips with this medicine and / or any success stories with this parasite? (I'm making it out to be a huge deal but he's just a little guy and I worry)
He has no adverse symptoms to this (maybe some fluctuating weight and seedy poo) and has been very playful and happy. Makes me wonder what sort of conditions they are in at Marshalls and the pet store he came from. I plan on rescuing my next fuzzy xx.
I posted this on Reddit and was directed here.

There is a powdered metro you can get that is flavourless. I was told about it awhile ago but have never used it. It's by Letco Medical, Metrodinazole Benzoate BP/EP. Here's some information. I know or have heard that it can be difficult to treat, especially if it's resistant. This is a link to a cat site but the information will be the same www.thesprucepets.com/giardia-in-cats-554950Good luck ciao
