I want to get a corrugated pipe for my ferret to run through, but was wondering if 4" diameter would be wide enough for him. Lowes has a 10 foot perforated pipe that I would like to get for him.

4" diameter is generally the standard size for ferret tubes (whether intentionally marketed for them or not ).
Unless you have a chunker of a hob--my guy is probably close to 4 pounds and the 4" could get too small for him at some point, but he's still happily diving thru it so we might be ok for a while longer--you should be good!

Thankfully he is just a youngster. He is almost 3 months old. Though with the way he eats he may end up being a chunker.

Generally speaking...4" is standard and more than ample. I've got one of this years kits, Mor'Du who's pushing 5 lbs and he's running the tubes. It's a tight fit but he does it. I have a 6 inch that I purchased and strangely enough, they're not fond of it. During the depth of winter, my bigger boys don't use the tubes as frequently as their middles have exceeded the circumference of the tube but generally speaking most ferrets are comfortable with 4 inch tubes. ciao
