Poor Wolfie I am so sorry to hear that you and him are going through this. I really hope you and your vet can figure out his meds. It sounds like you're doing a really good job handling the seizures in the mean time. So remember you are an awesome ferret mommy Keeping my fingers crossed for both of you.

Thank you everyone, you've been very helpful. So far, he is stabilized, eating, and going to the bathroom normally. I've been monitoring him all day and he was even exploring more than he usually was, so, I am feeling a little better. The vet has their own little mixture, this is what it says: Prednisolone 6x5mg + 6cc 50% dex, three times a day (now). Do you know what the "dex" means? he never told me. Again, thank you everyone for your support and help, it truly means a lot

Dex is dexamethasone. It's an anti-inflammatory (steroid). I'm only familiar with its use in dogs and cats, so I'll let someone else explain why its in the mixture.

It's used for insulinoma as well as pred.

Hrm, I have no idea what any of that means after prednisolone. "6x5?" Hmmm, internet research tells me the pills are 5mg, maybe it means there are 6 pills at 5mg each? And then perhaps 6cc of water. But I don't know how to convert that to mg/mL. Sheesh, they couldn't just put the mg/mL like usual? Anyway, glad to hear Wolfie's doing better, and I hope you can get things sorted out with the meds soon.

Interesting dosage. Maybe it means 6 pills, 5mg each. The 6cc says 50% dex, so maybe it's 3ml water, 3 ml dex. So the dosage of pred would be 30mg (6x5mg) in 3ml of water, which would be 10mg/ml. Just a guess and I could be completely wrong

I know, it is a little funky. I'll ask more about it when I see the vet again.
