Charlie i've found with mice its a bit cheaper to breed them yourself as my lot eat 9 mice in a meal so if i wasn't breeding the mice myself then it would be ridiculously expensive I only have 1 ferret though. I'd have way more mice. Also I don't know anything about breeding. Lol. Like when do you take them out at certain times to get various sizes or do you just bring them all up to be adults? I might end up keeping them as pets! Lol

Charlie with mice you separate babies from mum at 3 weeks old and at 6-7 weeks old their roughly 20-25 grams if you had two females and one male you shouldn't end up getting over-run only adults are considered meals juveniles are treats

I'm not sure where I would put them because I don't have a basement and the ferret is already in the spare room. I don't even know what they eat. Obviously I need to feed them properly and clean their cage as well. I'd also need 3 cages for them right? 1 for each mouse? How often do they breed? I've never bred any animals.

Charlie my mice eat sow rolls which is pig feed they get cleaned out once a week and i keep the male with the females as he helps take care of the babies. as far as enclosures 1 for breeding adults- no more than 3 females and one male per cage, and 1 for female babies when they leave mum. with male babies they are euthanized when they leave mum as male mice will fight once they reach 4 weeks old. if the male stays with the female then they should have babies every 3-4 weeks just make sure when babies are born don't touch them for a week as if you do there's a chance that their mum will eat them. also a 6+ week old mouse is an adult as the pet store near me sells frozen mice as small adult when their that age

Charlie your welcome if you do start breeding mice please keep us all updated I'm sure I'll be asking a lot of questions. I had pet rats for pets but I never bred them since they were all females. And the rats I had before that I had 2 boys and 2 girls but they always had separate cages and had separate play times. They were from the same litter. lol
