I'm getting 2 fetters but before I do I'm getting everything ready, I got the cage, the freezer. everything but their food. my plan at the moment is to feed them like this. the average ferret weights 1360 grams and I read online that they eat 10% their body weight daily and need to have at least 10% heart so that would be 136 Grams my plan is to feed them 60% Pork Tongue/ 82 grams/ muscle meat10% Chicken Hearts/ 13 grams/ Heart meat20% Chicken Wings/ 27 grams/ ebible bone5% Chicken Livers/ 7 grams/Liver meat 5% Rabbit Kidneys with fat/ 7 grams/ other organ
I made sure they had at least 3 different animal parts to eat I was going to cut it all up into small cubes I know each ferret has more or less but this is just a starting point so if they need more I can add more or if they eat less I can make changes. perfectlyrawsome.com/ferrets/prey-model-raw-diet-ferrets/ this website is where I found how much of what to feed them. can anyone tell if this is okay or if It needs changes?

Amount vary from ferret to ferret. Kits out eat adults, males usually out eat females. Active more than sedentary etc. While you can plan on 10%- when first transition fully to raw they will eat almost double what they finally settle to, for the first month or so

I used 136Gs grams as a starting point, you need to start somewhere. what do you think of their meal does it seem balanced? as long as it's balanced I can add more if they eat like pigs. I want everything to be perfect I plan on rescuing some ferrets from a centre and I want them to have the best life I can give.

The ratio doesn't look bad. What I would suggest though is unless you are getting small kits, to first give one protein at a time as you won't know the culprit if there is a sensitivity. And unless you can grind that all together to attain balance over a week's time. Ferrets will tend to eat what they like and avoid what they don't. So one could well eat all the heart, liver and kidney and the other just the pork. Which would lead to major health issues.
