The ferts have eaten chicken for almost a week now so I want to switch proteins and the butcher was closed by the time I got off work.

You can do any protein for the muscle meat in the soup, you can even do other protein's hearts and liver, so long as you keep it to the soup recipe ratios, it's all good.

I'm not sure what part of the turkey it is. It just says ground. That's alright? I just put that in the last of their soup and they seem to like the texture.

It's ok. It's all meat, no bone, tho. No worries, In the wild meals vary day to day. Variety is good. Honestly I don't know how my crew eats the same soups day after day,

Thank you for clearing that up. The ferrets have a hard time with change unless it's duck or turkey but we're trying to change that.
