So I've noticed a trend that everytime I give a skinned rabbit head, someone throws up a bit of reddish goo, I don't know which ferret it is and not sure what's causing it. Brain? Because they eat whole rabbit and rabbit pieces without this problem but the heads alone lead to some puking.

Maybe, should I be concerned? There isn't funky poo or anything, I only have one head left in the freezer anyways and they are so messy and bloody it's hardly my favorite to deal with.

Could the red goo be bunny blood?

Wouldn't likely be the blood. If it were, they'd have a problem with the rest of the rabbit as well- especially the other organs. The brain is likely too rich for someone. Is it possible your alpha is hogging the entire thing?

Well when I give it they all start in on the meaty part, Pip is a hog and someone ripped it off the hook last night, probably him but who knows for sure. Pandora isn't a big eater so I doubt it's her, she usually waits until the guys have gorged and gone to sleep and Craven just chows away on whatever.

sounds like its the brain either that or there is a build up of blood behind the eye socket that has turned to a jelly like mass and that is what you are seeing being thrown up ( it also depends how the bunny was uthenised ) as to how pockets of blood collect this may sound goulish but next time try splitting the skull into two halves before freezing and see if you have the same problem ( you often see blood clots remove these ) take care bye for now Bev aka crazy lady

Split between the jaws or the other way? I usually give it a couple smashes with the hammer so they can get to everything easier so chopping is doable. I'll give a try the next time they get rabbit head. I believe they are CO2'd.
