I've heard about this pickle juice for ferrets a few times recently online but have no idea what it is or what's in it... Any ideas as to what it is and or what's in it? Because surely people wouldn't be giving their ferrets juice from actual pickles...?

No lol, not real pickle juice...just the name. It's a mixture of oils and we won't endorse as has seed oils which does absolutely nothing for ferrets and a couple of these seed oils (flax in particular) causes an almost allergic reaction (severe itching) in a lot of the carnivores. As these oils are not identified and they won't itemise the oils we cannot say to go for it. I've used it, my guys were rather split on taking it, but did not seem particularly enthused. ciao

I wasn't planning on going for it until finding out more about it so I thought I'd ask since I was curious about it but from what you've said, I think I'll avoid it.

I'm not sure you could even get it as there appear to be supplement restrictions between countries, especially when oils are considered. As pickle juice is put together and created by one of the US shelters (used to help support the shelter), I very much doubt you could access it even if you wanted to use it. I was rather surprised when it came across the border here (it came as part of a set of bedding I had won on an auction, it was checked (seems they take great pleasure in taking apart parcels) They rewrapped it back in the bedding as it has been shipped. ciao
