This issue has been bugging me ever since I wanted to own ferrets, and it’s one I want to solve before I get them. And it’s going to be a long one.
As of now, I don’t work (medical reasons) which means all my time can be used supervising my fur babies free roam, my rats are quite content on Roaming around my double bed, considering their size it must feel like a football field.
Yet with ferrets being larger the bed just won’t cut it, and I’d love nothing more then to open their cage and off they go, however this is where I have issues.
my room doesn’t have the best layout for free roam, the what it’s desgined now it’s probaly the only decent layout with a decent amount of room, being a gamers me and my wife have a lot of wires connecting to different things, I know I brought this up on another topic which someone assured me wires would be somewhat ok, however owning a pet that has a tendancy to chew wires it makes you paranoid.
The bed itself and larger objects are not really much of a concern, the spacing between the bed and floor is so small you can’t fit a fist in between however if it is a problem I’m sure a large bock of wood can sort it, the coffee table and dresser I don’t mind if they crawl under there so much..
Its mainly just the wires that are an issue, they’re pretty much in the middle of the floor, and I don’t see any way around it, can’t move the tv back due to it hitting the door to the loft, which is used to store spare cages etc, and with my wife’s sight being poor as it is, it’s not ideal plus setting it’s own issues with how the PS4 would fit, we could barely fit it in the space it’s in now.
And its already been made clear that the ferrets stay in our room and only our room, so using any other room is sadly out of bounds, by the law of my dad (He’s not a fan on ferrets since one bit him)
if anyone has any ideas on a way around this or have been in the same situation I’d appreciate any help,
cheers
