That looks good! You have 5 proteins, and appropriate portions. As for substituting, just use other proteins from the list in the menu Do you think you are ready to graduate?

Can we go over the cat first? And, if I want to add a mouse or something where would I plop that?

Of course! And the odd mouse would be a bone in meal. However if whole prey begins to make up 3 or 4 meals a week then adjustments to the weekly menu can be done.

So instead of, say, turkey neck...I'd sub a mouse? The girls were not into the turkey neck. I think it was too big for them. They snacked a bit on it, then abandoned it. I donated it to the boys But if I end up using more than that or adding quail, gpig, rats etc...then I look at the "alternate meal" menu and just alter accordingly like I would if it were a complete grind or Stella and Chewy's freeze dried? Okay, with the cat. She needs less bone-in meals than the ferrets? But still 3+ proteins? I'm struggling a bit with her because we eliminate turkey and rabbit. She won't eat the duck necks, will only partially clean the pork ribs (the boys think that's WONDERFUL because they get to clean the rest of the bones and get the yummy parts of it). So for bone in that leaves us with: chicken necks (she'll eat all of), chicken wings (she'll eat about 1/2-3/4 of one)...and that's it...

For the first part got it in one For kitty she *should* have 3+ proteins, same as fuzz. And definitely needs less bone (at least mine do). So chicken necks should be fine as her bone in source.

So could chicken necks be her only bone in? But heart and organ portion requirements the same?

Correct If you can get her eating more variety than just chicken necks great. If not don't worry too much.

She seems to refuse the other options. Chicken wings aren't even completely consumed. I can certainly keep trying, and will, but just don't want to be messing it up in the meantime! The chicken necks are the only ones she consistently eats the entirety of.

Then that can be enough. How are her stools with only a few necks a week? If you do need to increase you can always give her a bone in grind just for the variety. Okay. Let's go over kitty's menu then. That way we can tweak that.

I'm here I don't really *have* a good menu plan for kitty. You'd think I'd find her easier than the weasels, but no! She does better on only 3 or so bone-in meals. More than that, she can't poop comfortably. So, that being said...best to alternate her organ/heart meals with bone in? Heart am, bone in pm, liver/kidney am, bone in pm, until those requirements fulfilled for the week then go to boneless til the next cycle?

Oh man. Them weasels LOVEEDDDDD the mice 2 weeks ago! Definitely gotta get those into our rotation. The easiest thing ever to feed, and even the boys who'd never had them did fantastic. Also, got a cleaver for Christmas, so bring it on! Now I gotta go deal with that rabbit that came with the head

I have a kitty the same way If 3 meals a week is all she can tolerate then it's fine. But it is your menu for the fuzz I need. We can still work on kitty privately if you like.

You'll have to excuse my blond moment!
Sunday am: chicken breast Sun pm:turkey chunks Mom am: duck neck Mon pm: duck neck and egg soup Tues am: chicken neck Tues pm: rabbit bone in Weds am: liver and kidney mix Weds pm: boneless pork Thurs am: chicken thigh Thurs pm: heart Fri am: duck neck Fri pm: heart and organ mix Sat am:chicken neck Sat pm: boneless pork
I'm low on a lot of stuff and need to do a food order/shopping, so we're scrounging a bit here this week and next. Also Monday's repeat of meals isn't normally a thing. It was a hot mess in this house on Monday. Ugh!
I used my cleaver the other day to chop duck necks up. The cat ate most of hers once chopped, yay!

Looks good! 5 proteins, 7 bone in meals, proper ratio of heart/liver/organ The onky change I would make is swapping out the chicken breast with the duck neck/egg soup meal. That way it is distributed more and you don't have 4 bone in meals in a row I am going to put your menu forward to Heather later, and see about getting you graduated!
