Hello all, I'm looking to combine my 2-story FN cage with my single story (L-shaped) so they have their double-length playpen on the bottom level with their food, water and toilet on the "loft" level, with room to store bedding/supplies on top of the single story cage so they don't get into it while they're out, (with plexiglass under and on the side to keep them from pulling stuff through of course)
I was just wondering what would be best to use for the bottom pan since it'll be double the length and I'm worried they'll wedge themselves through the middle if I stick with 2 pans instead of one... any suggestions?

If you zip tie the thing together it shouldn't be an issue

I bought some zip ties anyway to secure the two cages together, so I'll try zip tying the pans together and see if that works! I would prefer it to be flat in the middle but that would require one long pan and I don't have the tools to fabricate my own metal or plastic pan so wood would be my only other option but that's too porous to use in an environment that occasionally gets wet.

Oh you are talking about the pans, not the cage itself! The two separate pans don't seem to have proved any issue for those doing double FNs.

Thank you for your help! ^_^ I was able to get my cages all set up, I used a fitted sheet to cover the bottom pans so they don't try to slip underneath them, (knowing them they probably would and get stuck somehow) and there's been no issues yet!
