Hey everyone. I have been using a vinegar/water solution for wiping down my critter nation, but I'm pretty much over the smell of vinegar. Do you guy's have any favorite cleaning solutions? (liquid, wipes, etc). Thanks

I let my vinegar age with discarded lemon and lime peels soaking in it for about 6 to 8 weeks in a dark corner. I then strain through cheese cloth and use the vinegar for cleaning. Light lemony citrus scent....I use vinegar and water to clean my cages ciao

natures miracle for poop and pee. I make sure it is dry before ferrets can go back in the cage just in case.

We use Nature's Miracle on floors and carpet mostly, we also go over the floors with the steam mop and in the new house I plan on owning our own Rug Doctor unit to deep wash any carpets. But I do a good amount of cleaning with vinegar and water too. Bedding gets thrown in the wash with vinegar or All Free & Clear detergent depending on the level of dirty. That's an ingenious idea Heather! I think I'm gonna try that as well.

Do you guys do 50% water and 50% vinegar? That's what I been doing and I feel it smells a little too strong. Also one of my ferrets seems to sneeze whenever I'm done cleaning and he runs into the cage

There are different strength vinegar. I presume you guys are talking about kitchen strength vinegar and not cleaning vinegar (30%).
White distilled Kitchen vinegar ranges from 5% to 20% concentration. So depending on what type your using you may want to adjust your vinegar to water ratio.

We use water/vinegar for light cleaning and lightly soiled bedding. All free and clear for dirty bedding and Nature's Miracle for deep cage cleaning. Just make sure it's dry before the fuzzies go back in!

Vinegar in a spray bottle and water in another. baking soda for fun special effects... Seriously, mostly when one has an oops on the carpet. If I use cleaners in my house it is seventh generation otherwise my house always smell like vinegar... Thanks for the lemon lime Citrus smelling vinegar idea...

Not a common product in the USA. I did quick search on ingredients. It mentions allergies and reactions in humans. I would suggest using vinegar in the ferret areas. It is safe. And only like two ingredients, which is vinegar and water usually. Both are absolutely safe for us and them. I am vary picky with ingredients. The only brand of cleaner I tend to use (here in the US) is seventh generation, if I use a cleaner at all. There are many more like this company, just this one is readily available where I live. Plus vinegar is cheap compared to most products.
