Ok so since hearing the chicken hearts and gizards are mostly gizards ive been on the hunt for heart only.... finally found some it is beef heart i didnt think it would be an issue since they luv beef and while i was cutting it up they were begging for scraps and eating them. But last night they didnt touch it at all .... and the stuff i ordered wont be here till thursday. Is it just a picky night for them? Or can i do anything to entice them to eat it? i had an idea to mix it with pork like 50/50 n just feed them more meals that way so they get the needed heart would that be ok?

You could try pureeing it and spoon feeding until they get use to the taste. Then slowly move up to larger pieces. That has worked with my ferrets on stuff like that.

I'm not sure if I'll get flamed/shamed for this answer or something lol, but what I do is that if my chihuahua happens to not like a certain cut/type of meat, I will SLIGHTLY sear her meat over the stove...Just so it ever so lightly browns the meat a little. Of course, NEVER sear any meats with bone in it. Afterwards, she will eat it like it's her last meal on earth. On second thought, maybe your ferrets like meat at room temperature. Some pets, (our two girls being one of them-my chihuahua and our older Bichon) don't really like meat when it's fresh out of the fridge. Our boy, Teddy, (older Bichon) doesn't care one way or the other. Another tip is that you could coat the meat in some fish oil or olive oil (that DOES NOT have canola oil in it) and use a little bit to rub on the meat. The oil coats the smell of the meat, and they will want to go after the tasty oil. I'm not sure why, but sometimes there's just certain smells in meat that turns off some pets. Just to note, I would advise using fish oil rather than olive oil since it's hard to obtain pure EVOO and it can be pretty fattening for ferrets. Make sure you get a good source of fish oil has well, I read a very good article that most fish oils on the market are actually rancid. Bone broth is another fantastic way to make things tasty. I don't know if ferrets can have it or not, but it is absolutely AMAZING for dogs/cats and humans. LOl, last suggestion. Once again, I'm not sure if ferrets can have it or not (so take my answers with a grain of salt) but sometimes I will sprinkle a dehydrated bully stick powder over my Chi's food. I will also slightly wet it and mix it around so it coats the pieces of meat. Kinda similar looking to when we coat meat to make chicken fingers/fried chicken out of breading . A bully stick (I'm probably being obvious here) is made from cow/bull pizzle...If you aren't sure what that is, google it. At first, I didn't know what it was until I looked it up.
