why not just wait until they are needed leave one out over night then cut to size or if you have a farm foods freezer store near by they do fantastic packs of meat like five packs of cubed chicken for a tenner ( no bone but you can add that in later when they go on to legs thighs ect ) and ounce for ounce your getting good value because its all meat or they do cubed beef so many packs again in there offers ( I often get it from here for kits lol saves a heck of a lot of time and its good value it also means your giving them a variety of meats ) back to the frozen stuff why not leave out enough for two days cut it up into the sizes you want and feed one and place the other into your fridge for the following day ( if the wife doesnt like ferret meat in her fridge buy a seal able Tupperware box that will get you into her good graces and label whats inside lol )good luck take care bye for now Bev

I buy both fresh and frozen when I need to restock meats, and I also buy either bulk or hunt down specials and end up buying quite a bit as well. The frozen items that are too hard to cut/saw through when frozen, I let defrost a little bit but not completely, and then I quickly work with it and refreeze it. Do not use things like the microwave or scalding hot water to defrost meat, it can end up cooking it or even just the edges. Let room temperature or luke water do the thawing instead. The fresh comes out of the fridge, I work with it and then straight into the freezer for that.
