Ok so I feed my two adult boy ferrets ground raw meat once a day in the evening. SO how many ounces per day of raw meat should they be eating? I also leave kibbles in the cage. I feel like Skunkers is a little over weight lol. When I took him to the vets a few weeks ago they did not say he was over weight. So they say Skunkers is 1.52 kl and Thomas is 1305 kl??? does that sound right?

An adult male ferret can eat anywhere from 2-6+ oz a day. It really varies from ferret to ferret (activity level, age, etc).

And babies can eat so much it's not even funny. Dixie ate 8+ oz a day once and she was only 10 weeks old.

It would be kilograms(kg). And that's not too bad. 1.51 kg = 3.3 lbs 1.305 kg = 2.9 lbs

I agree it varies a lot. I try to always have something available, i figure if they lick the bowl clean there was not enough put out. It can take a bit of time to figure out how much is enough with out too much waste. For example of how it can vary... from youngest to oldest ... luna 5/6months eats 4-6oz weighs just over 2lbs high activity level, Neka 10months can pack away 6-8oz aday occassionally more! , weighs about 2lbs12oz super high activity level lol, Zeke, almost 2yrs weighs 3lbs 3ozs only eats 4oz on a good day, moderate activity sadie about 8yrs weighs 1lb 14ozs and can eat from 3/4ozs, very low activity level.

also you need to account for the kibble they may eat less raw because they are also eating kibble.

And the kibble will pack the most weight on them. It's all the carbs.

Oh he is a chubby boy! Is he lazy? Weight gain in ferrets is more related to activity than to diet. Try to get him more active - make him run some laps and work his belly ;D

Well he does not get free room of the house I now live in because its not my house, but I have them in their own room and there is plenty of room for running around in. He used to have free roam in my apartment. SO it kinda sucks that my boys cant just run around wherever the like and follow me. I miss that. Now I fell like I have to visit them in their room

Find a cat teaser toy he likes, and get him moving with that. You can also take him out on walks with a halter and leash. Get him running with you. Might just be the picture, but he really does look too heavy in that one.

Do you have stairs? I hook Koda up on his leash and let him run up the stairs, then I catch him at the top and carry him back down to do it again. It's Win-win-win/ He gets to exercise and burn off some energy, I get a bit of a cardio workout chasing him up and down, and Koda gets to think he is getting away with being "naughty" (his is not allowed upstairs). haha
