I recognise that certificate They're not suppose to exist and she's right it is an "H" It's the same one as Captain Jack....ok...so he was originally a petland ferret Anyway, he's a Hagen ferret. He has an "H" tat. I was told they stopped breeding ferrets under that handle . ciao

Heather- I got the same one, though. For ALL my pet store ferrets, in spite of various tattoos, or even NO tattoos. All from Petland. Boris and Vincent's blue double dots are still semi visible, but BOTH their certificates list an H. Lucrezia has no tattoo at all, yet HER'S lists an H.

CDC pet breeders out of manitoba. I can't at the moment remember the name of the guy, but I will look it up. I got it from the guy who used to run a pet store here. He got some of the "H" ferrets before. But said never again, cause they were so bitey. I think his name is Dave Thiessen(Theissen) sp?

No, the certificate obviously is something that petland or pet stores use as a universal pet certificate. It's the "H" tat that gets me. Truthfully, it probably doesn't really matter, because supposedly Hagen became RC or sold out to RC (and yes they're bitey) I don't think that anyone's really going to be able to trace these tats as there does indeed appear to be a farm ferret breeder (outside of RC) who sells up here and operates out of Western Canada. At one point it was suggested that there were ferrets being sold in Western Canada out of the Carolinas, I have no idea if they're tatooed or not. The real issue is this mysterious issue of Olivia's and if this is possibly the upper respiratory infection that has affected some of the RC fuzzes. I read somewhere (not sure...ferret health list ) that the bacterial/viral infection had actually infected a couple of Marshals ferrets. People had been originally been led to believe that though infectious this disease was not easily communicable and that ferrets would probably not easily share this in multiple ferret households. ciao
