I recently tried to switch my ferret off marshalls,I got some orijen and he loves it!But the problem is that he seems to prefer orijen over marshalls and he eats too much orijen to make this a "slow transition" does that make sense? Is this bad?

No, it's fine. If you think he's eating too much, then instead of leaving food out all the time put out a portion 2 times a day or whatever. Ferrets (except my Pandora) don't tend to overeat. The whole point is to get onto a better food. Some ferrets take longer to switch because they are accustomed to their old food, so it might be necessary to mix it with the new one. Your ferret made it easy on you! Just skip the Marshall's

I don't see the problem, instead to me that sounds amazing, lol. Your little one is still a kit, a baby, they switch pretty freaking fast, and easily most of the time. They have yet to get to the stage where they no longer imprint on foods, that's when it starts becoming hard work to switch them. Marshall's crap-ibble into the trash, yay! Let baby eat their Orijen instead. And if you still wanna do the switch to raw, now definitely will be the best time, you see how well they can switch at such a young age.

He will likely have funky stools, but that is okay Given it IS kibble though keep an eye out for diarrhea though. Because kibble fed ferrets tend to be borderline dehyrdrated all the time, it is a much higher risk for them. If he starts to have diarrhea 2-3 times in a row it becomes an emergency vet visit.

Surprisingly he doesn't have THAT funky poop, just a bit lighter colored in the beginning and now it's normal colored!
