Hello all!
My ferret Pam loooooves chewing on rubber items, my bracelet , my keyboard cover, etc. So I got her a puppy kong with the thought that during playtime it would be awesome to fill it with a tasty treat so she can tucker herself out while getting a snack.
Then it dawned on me, I don't know what to fill the Kong with.
Any ideas?

Ferrets should never be allowed near any rubber or foam toys and objects. These will quickly lead to an often fatal blockage and incredibly high vet bills. Please remove any rubber or foam objects from near your ferret for their safety.
Kong toys in particular have caused many people a lot of sorrow. They just cannot stand up to a ferret, so it's best to just get rid of any. There are other safer toys out there that will bring more than enough happiness instead.

I'm sorry but I have to agree. We've never had a blockage here, but we've been lucky. We've seen evidence of chewing, and Scamp has somehow passed or puked up at least 3 foam ear plugs. If you can take back the kong, do it.

I would like to include toys that have beaded or button eyes and noses are no no's too. Also a guy, a good while back lost his ferret to a stuffed beaded soft toy, which his ferret finally tore into.

And yes, they are more than capable of chewing pieces off even the big black kongs. After all- an adult ferret has the capability of biting through a rabbit's skull if they so choose

Do not let your wee one play with the kongs, even the ones they claim can be used by ferrets....they can't. They don't hold up, they can tear chunks of them off. My Nicodemus had one. I found myself doing the emergency protocol one night because he'd ripped the rim off the kong. Luckily for him and my pocket book, the pieces did vacate nicely but neither him nor I wanted to do a repeat performance.....no this is not a toy for ferrets ciao
