I took a 10 hr trip to Fla last week from NC with my four ferrets, a beautiful view along the coastal states. My 4 babies were caged in a ferret nation 181 that I had cut the legs off for my Abbey who could not climb ramps last year because of a bad knee.
I hung a cube and and a hammock so they could have more sleeping space. I also put in a potty, which they all used wonderfully:) I took their food in a big cooler with a bunch of freezer packs, which I get when ordering frozen prey. Everything stayed cool.
I plan to do it again as all went well.

How did it all go for you, and for them?

2 sleeping in the cube was cute . The two deafies squabbled at each other a little, and they all tried to boil out of the cage when I stopped to change their potty and feed them their mice. But all went pretty well besides that. I think they liked the vibration of the road and slept most of the time. Not bad at all. Driving a little at night was hectic---people driving so fast like it was day time--will leave earlier next time.

I'm glad it went so well! Yeah, driving at night isn't my forte any more either.
