I've had my 2 little ones fully raw for a few weeks now and I've been slowly introducing chunks of meat. Little Leia likes chunks WAY more than Luke so the transition to full frankenprey has been slow. I threw in little pieces of gizzard recently (to strengthen their jaw muscles) which I found out is SO hard to cut up and Leia sliced through it so quickly - I was proud and terrified . Anyways, Leia seems to be "inhaling" her food. At least, that is what it sounds like. She also sometimes has a bit of a dry cough during feeding and after feeding. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? She's just making really odd noises and it's worrying me a bit. It's not like she's starving and that's the reason for her seeming to be scarfing it down. There's always some left, and every once and awhile, they both decide to skip breakfast. So finicky. (headwall) Anyways, any shared experiences or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Don't know if it will help-maybe a tad of water on food. I have two that likes food a little wetter. However, my Annabelle prefers her food as is or dry stash.

Some ferrets seem to make noises when they eat. I have a couple who do this breathing thing while eating as well. And have done so for years.

Right now their food is pretty wet as it is. Instead of soupie, I started them off on FDR and now Commercial Grinds. I'll try adding a bit of water in case she has a bit of a dry throat or something. Thanks!

I tend to liken it to those who chew loudly with mouth open, as compared to those who eat quietly
