Here is S'more at the vet. She is my ferret that is under a year old. Apparently she wanted to dig in the crayon box. This is my youngest and her BFF Itty Bitty. Itty is 6 years old and is borderline insulinoma. She has had her glucose tested twice at the vet and it is in the grey area. So in 3 more weeks she goes back to have some blood work done. It is to get a better picture of what is going on since we do not have a history on her.

awww what cuties, all of em. Just an fyi, we've had 3 ferrets with low blood glucose levels that lived out normal life spans. Kahlua's never got above the 30's on pred for 2 years. She was 8 1/2 when she passed, our second oldest. Pandy's runs in the 50's and these were done at the vet's. Pandy is not on pred. The vet agrees with us that as long as she eats well and is asymptomatic, the 50's is enough, vs. the side effects of prolonged pred use.

LindaM Thanks! I have 5 more kiddos. That is my youngest. She LOVES Itty! unclejoe Thank you for that info! We aren't starting Itty on meds until she needs it. I secretly have hopes that she just hangs out in the gray area and have no symptoms. Our vet wants me to watch weight and if I see any symptoms to call her.
