Booger has had quail FDR, but this morning was his first raw quail. He also had his pork puree last night and this morning, I think 3 ice cubes total. Then I gave the quail and later retrieved what was stashed and chopped it up some and poured a small amount of pork puree over it. My question is: Have ferrets showed allergy to either? Also, do quail get saline injected or chemically treated prepackaging so that they don't have to list it? Got it in an international market. Quail is the only ingredient listed. I know the pork is clean. Reason I ask is that Booger has been very itchy today all over. Since he got his DES implant the itching has been much less until today so it makes me wonder. Grateful for any insights.

My ferrets haven't shown an allergy to either, and I haven't heard of one yet, but it could be possible. Though a sensitivity to chicken is one you'll hear about more commonly.
I get quail from an Asian market, and it's just the raw quail in there, they haven't been treated with saline. Though you might want to read on the package of yours to see (it's not always in the ingredient list, sometimes it can say elsewhere on the packaging), or ask someone in the butchery if they know. If it shows nowhere on the packaging, you're likely safe with it.
Keep an eye on it, he might just be having an itchy day. I'd be more concerned if it persists for a few days.

Thank you, LindaM! I will definitely keep a watch on him- I watch him like a hawk (as the expression goes!) Unfortunately for me, I don't read any Asian languages and that's most all the writing on the package. I don't think they butcher any of their products there. So, I guess I won't worry too much--yet
