Not sure if this is where this thread shouyld go or not. Feel free to move.
Okay, in the girl's new room they're getting only natural lighting. I've taken out the lightbulb just in case someone wonders in at night and flips the switch. I'm just wondering if I can put a nightlight in there for when I have to feed them at night. I'm just so afraid that I might step on them or let them out on accident. If I did put one in there It would only be on for a few minutes. Maybe an hour if I get distracted and start playing. I don't want to do anything that could possibly harm them.
Any advice, or suggestions, would be welcome. Thank you in advance.

Try to make all bulbs amber in colour, and it should help a lot! Amber cuts the blue light from the spectrum, which is the one(to MY understanding) that can trigger the problems with adrenal. Not saying you'll not have to deal with it if you do this, just that it's supposed to help stack the odds in your favour.

They sell amber colored clear cellophane at the arts & crafts stores. I would just try to wrap that around the night light as best you can. I'm sure its not easy to find amber colored tiny night light bulbs!!

I'll try to find a few and if not I'll try the cellophane idea. Thank you so much. I guess I could find a regular amber bulb as long as I don't keep it on for too long.

I was curious if they make regular economy bulbs in amber (the swirly bulbs that help save money supposedly) my husband is pretty stubborn at only getting those bulbs, we don't have many lights in the house as we get great sunshine, but due to my daughter I need night lights everywhere (she walks into walls, she's not special at all! ) So do they make regular and night light sized bulbs 'economy/wallet' friendly?

Oh I've read it and told him about the mercury and chemicals in them. He's not 100% convinced about them but he is aware, he want's to do more 'research' before we nix them.

I"m in the process of taking all mine out. I never had issues with adrenal (as in the full blown symptoms and being hugely aggressive disease) until I installed those stupid bulbs. It's the only thing I've changed, so I can't find anything else. ciao

if you cannot find an amber bulb and need a light only for a very short time use a lamp with a deep shade and drape a orange coloured scarf over it ( dont leave it too long incase it gets hot ! ) that way you are masking the light so its very dim like moon light hope this helps take care bye for now Bev aka crazy lady

We have those huge florescent bulbs (the long ones) in our kitchen, any suggestions for those? We rarely use them but on occasion we have no choice, they are right next to the kitchen and I can see those lights being a problem.

If you rent? No. Only thing you can do with those is ditch them, and replace the fixture.
