As some of you know Twiggy has liver cancer. At this point it's about extending her life and quality of life. While her medicine has certainly helped she still has trouble gaining weight. She's thankfully not loosing weight but she also isn't gaining either. She currently very active has a healthy appetite but is still under weight.

She has obviously been kibble fed all her life and constantly turns her nose up at meat. I've even tried mixing small amounts with kibble but that hasn't worked. But with her current diet she's still thin so I want to get a lot more serious about meat. It may be hard to see in the video but I'll take a pic next time she has a bath and you'll see what I mean.(Ok, the video apparently isn't going to appear. I'll worry about that later. It's just a clip of her eating)
I'm hoping that with adding meat to her diet will help her gain at least a little weight. Tomorrow I plan to puree some of the meat that I keep for my younger meat eating ferrets, (Nibbles and Little bear) and encourage her to eat it daily from then on. I plan to try wiping it on her gums and mouth so she has to lick it off as well as just keep offering it to her. I also hope that I can use my younger ferrets to help show her that it's good food.
One of the problems though is that I know a sudden new food can be hard on their digestive system and she already has issues because of the cancer. I often give her a second medicine to prevent diarrhea. Should I be worried about that and what kind of meat would be the best to use?
