So I was wondering something about size. My girls are pretty much the same size. Zephyr is 2 pounds and Ruca is a little over a pound and a half. They are both almost a year old.
Now the baby weighs just about two pounds and he is 11 weeks old today. His feet are also big, Bigger then the girls. How big do you think he will get?

Boys tend to be bigger then girls. My 7month old is over2 lbs and is the same length as my other boy who is exactly a yr old and he weighs almsot 4 lbs (though he IS overweight! lol) Both my girls have bin around the 1lb10oz weight, ages 3 and 6.
I dont think my baby boy will get much bigger, but I'm not sure when they stop growing.

It's hard to say - some ferrets get very large, others not so much. However, I think it's fair to say your boy won't be small The weight will also fluctuate during winter and summer time. In general, male ferrets tend to be between 2-4 lbs (though there are always exceptions.)

There are different types of ferrets. Bulldog and...normal?
Bulldogs are bulkier and have stubby legs along with stubby tails.
My first ferret, Bonkers, is really tiny despite being 2 years old, whereas our other 2 year old ferrets (all boys) are about three times the size of him! >< It just depends on the specific types I guess.

Boys do tend to be a bit bigger than girls but there is always an exception,, My boy Crumb is 2 lb 12 oz and my Fatty Girl Tai is 2 lb 8 oz, Slither is 2 lb 1 oz, and Velma is 2 lbs...for the most part my girls range from 1 lb 10 oz to 1 lb 12 oz

Ahhh fuzzy sizes. Let's just say that you probably won't be able to judge how large your ferret will get by taking into account the size he/she is as a kit. They actually get larger than their final size and weight. At about 9 or 10 months, they will be actually larger and heavier than they will be 6 months later (at least most of the time ). Think about baby birds.....those huge, screaming creatures that are usually twice the size of the parent bird...baby fuzzes are similar . The boys are usually (note I said usually) twice the size of the little girls. I've got one little boy who isn't much different in size that my smallest girl but he has all sorts of birth defects and a respiratory (congenital) issue that probably limited his ability to properly process nutrients. This is a pic of Lady "B" and Porthos. Unfortunately, this doesn't show the radical size differences that do indeed occur between the genders. Lady B is a rather large female (I don't know if all PV's produce this size female, but she's the only one I could reference, all my other PV's are boys) Even so, Porthos who wasn't a particularly large male is larger than she is. She weighs in at a little under 3 lbs and he weighed in at around 3.5 lbs. Even the difference between the various farm ferrets can be quite noticeable And this goes as well to kit size vs what they will grow into. The larger ferret is Napoleon, who at the time was about 4 or 5 months of age. The smaller fuzz was his best friend, Mischief who was at that time about 10 yrs old. Napoleon was a Path Valley fuzz whereas Mischief was a Marshals. ciao

Well I guess I'll just have to wait and see. He just seems like he is going to be big. He is a Marshall's ferret and I know there was talk about them breeding some bigger ones lately. I know I've seen some rather big ferrets for sale the last couple months compared to what I've seen in the past. He just seems stockier then the other male kits that I've seen and that were in the cage with him. Time will tell.

I'll just add in - both my girls usually stay in the 2 lb range (Sian will get a bit smaller, but Pixie is ALWAYS consistent. And at 2 lbs they look fit and lean, so they may just be bigger girls in general. My boys tend to be in the 3 1/2 - 4 & a bit lbs, although my first male had HUGE paws and a block head, although his BODY was small (like a typical female, really) and trim, so it can be misleading!

My baby girl is about 5 months old and just weighed in at the vet at 1lb 13oz. My older girl (guestimating about 2-3 years old) weighed in at 1lb 14oz (although she weighed 1lb 10oz 1 month ago before starting on raw).
