So, we ended up with a gorgeous WHITE Christmas this year, and in the nick of time too. Christmas Eve, during the day and early evening, no snow on the ground or sky at all, bone dry and just cold. Much later that evening though, snow, snow, snow. And Christmas morning had a thick white blanket outside with snow still falling.
As we had plans to visit family for Christmas day, we ended up coming home a bit late that evening, so my plans moved to the next morning. So yesterday, I put Loki's harness and leash on him and we went outside to fetch some bucketfulls of snow to play in. Athena is too small for her harness still, she wriggles out entirely, and it's one of the smallest ones I have too. So only Loki got to go outside and help me collect snow.
When we go back inside I proceeded to fill the smaller tub in our guest bathroom with snow for my ferrets to dig in. This is Athena's first snow, as she's only turning six months old next week. And holy crap... did my little baby ferret get addicted to snow in a hurry! She ran over and used the cat's enclosed litter box multiple times during the day to climb back into the tub and play with the remaining snow.
Now today, there is no snow left in the tub, and she still expects the magical bathtub to give her snow. I've had to go in there and pick her up out of it like 15 times already (she can get in easily, but without anything in the tub getting out when she wants to is a bit harder). Somehow, without fail, my baby now expects snow to appear in bathtubs for her pleasure. She's even run to our bathroom and jumped up and down against the side of the tub to try and peer inside to see if it has snow... Poor little girl.

Hahahaha oh poor little thing! What about getting some balls like for a ball pit, or some other fun items to throw in there for her? Show her the bathtub IS magical... You never know what you're going to find!

raebees They actually do have a ball pit box with a whole bunch of those smaller plastic easter eggs in, but there's not enough to make it deep enough in the tub. She seems to equate the tubs now with being producers of cold, fluffy, white, diggable happiness, lol. Or the occasional "drinkable mummy bathwater" like tonight. Thankfully some nights that I decide to bath versus shower, they're both asleep and I can add some bubble bath oil, lol, or I just end up with the plainest baths and have to shoo them away before I wash and by then the water is cold too. I think I'll have them snorkle sometime in the week, I just need to find a few more water usable toys they can use for it.

I saw a video once where they had made a raft out of water bottles, like 5 or 6 of them, strapped or hot glued together. It was pretty cute and seemed like a good way to offer out of water in the water time. Too bad snow is impossible to replicate. 😄

I'll try that, maybe they will like it.. though I have a feeling they will simply try to drag it off and stash it... I believe they have around 6+ bottles of varying levels of remaining water they've stolen from my bedside table currently stashed about all over in our bedroom.
