Hi everyone! How do you know if you should start at a soup stage or go directly into feeding the meat itself?

Also, what is ground whole chicken or ground whole rabbit counted as in the diet? I have my planned diet split up by bone, muscle, and organ from a previous post from HFF that was also recommended by Steph from Ferret-World. Thanks!

If your ferret is already past the "imprinting on food" stage, or just a really picky eater, I would say to start at the soupie stage. You can just add a bit of water to any ground meat, and smush it about really well, or use a blender to make a soupie from other meats.
My established ferret is the picky one, he's 1.5yrs old, but even he can't say no to a meat soupie, even if he still pulls his nose up at most raw, lol.

You can offer some small pieces of meat and see what they do. If they seem interested(licking it etc) make the pieces a bit smaller or hold it up for them to learn how to chew. If not interested then start with soup

I put it out for him at night and by the time I woke up it was all gone! I think the transition might go somewhat smooth for him
