I don't have 8oz of chicken-just about 5. Can I substitute the other 3 oz with chicken gizzard? I read that it is a muscle meat but I'm not sure if it would ruin the balance of the soup recipe. I can go get more chicken if not, just curious if this is an option!

In all honesty, I wouldn't risk it. Unless you have an incredibly high power blender, the gizzard will more than likely destroy your blender. I accidentally blended gizzard and it smoked my blender hahahahhaa. They are incredibly tough little pieces of meat.

You can from nutritonal part of view, but as Machan said, it will very likely "kill" your blender

If you wanted, you could try manually cutting it up into small pieces and mixing with the soup. If they don't end up eating the gizzard it would need to come to an end though otherwise liver would be over-consumed and throw the soup's nutritional balance off.

I would just go and get more chicken Once they take to it that batch will be gone very quickly.

Yes, gizzards and blenders and food processors...not a good mix. Food processors might have a strong enough motor but gizzards are very dense and adding the speed of the processor turns said gizzards into deadly projectiles. Very messy. Could possibly be considered a meat bomb ciao
