So I'm a foster for the SPCA and yesterday I took back a litter of 6 kittens who had reached 8 weeks and were ready for adoption, on the way I realized I couldn't part with the little boy Scully and I've decided to adopt him. Right now he's technically a foster as I want to wait to make sure he fits into the household nicely but I wondered if anyone had any tips on how to introduce him to my old Cat?
My old cat is around 13? and has been the only cat for 10 years unless I was fostering an adult cat then he wouldn't attack the cat (he has no claws anyways) but he would hiss. I've let him see the kitten and Scully really likes him while Bob, although not hissing did meow quite unhappily.
I've never introduced cats before, so if anyone has any experience I'd really appreciate it!

Personally, when introducing kittens to my cats, I keep the kitten restricted to one area of the house to try and minimise the stress on the other cats until they have all accepted the new kitten. Usually I allow my cats to choose to come in the lounge where the kitten is, and let them control the interaction. Quite often, I will give favourite treats in the area where the kitten is, and work up to them eating treats with the kitten. This has worked so far with my lot, and by the time the kitten is old enough and big enough to roam the entire house everyone has met and accepted its presence. Brought a poor little mite home from a farm a week ago as he crept under my car and one look at him I knew he would be dead in a short time if I left him. So in the middle of intros myself. My two boys have accepted the little one quite well. The girls however are less impressed just at the moment
