What is a bone in meat, muscle meat, etc.? I know what the organs are and I know where to get them but specifically what type of meats should I get when I go to the grocery store? I know it should be fattier over lean. For the bone in meat, do I need to cut the bones, etc? Very confused. Sorry

Ferrets can eat chicken, quail, rabbit, turkey (can't eat thigh bones of turkey), duck meat and bones. You may have to smash the bones at the beginning to get your ferret to eat them. You cannot serve them cooked bones. Cooked bones basically turn to rock and can splinter and puncture the ferrets intestines. Muscle meat would be things like pork, beef, lamb, goat, etc that do not have bones in them. Ferrets cannot eat pork (ferrets can only eat pork buttons), beef, lamb, goat, big game bones. Example, I can serve my three ferrets a pork t-bone, but they will not eat the bone. They strip the meat off of it. If they don't eat the bone, it does not count as a bone in meal.

How much bone do they need? Also what part of the chicken do I give her for a bone in meal? Is it okay to just feed her chicken for her bone in meals?

Please thoroughly read the above documents and the below link: holisticferretforum.com/natural-diet/raw-diet-the-meat-of-the-site/basic-frankenprey-menu/Bone in meals are called bone in meals because you feed the bone parts of the animals, example; tonight I will feed my ferrets two duck wings. You cannot only feed chicken as the only bone in meal, that creates an unbalanced diet and ferrets can become allergic to chicken instantly and out of nowhere.
