So I just noticed my ferrets pee is green and his poo is liquidy. I have no idea what to do. I plan on calling my vet tomorrow morning but I won't be able to make it to the vet until Saturday when I am off work. What does green pee mean and how can I fix it or help until I can get him to the vet?

That doesn't sound good at all @girrrgabbery . I do highly recommend getting a vet have a look at your ferrets as soon as possible.
What is the age of your ferret(s)? Are you certain it is all of your ferrets? How many exactly? What is the current diet, and last meal? Are they eating/drinking? Are there any other concerning symptoms that catch your eye? Are you certain that it is the pee (that is green)? What colour is the liquidy stools? How is the odour for both urine and feces? If you have photos that would be fantastic also.
Sorry to bombard you with questions, this will help us to get a better understanding on the situation.

Oh, to answer your question in regards to the green coloured urine. There can be multiple reasons for it, this is why it is essential that a vet sees the ferrets in person and has tests done (such as urine cultures or a urinalysis test) to determine the issue present. Once the cause is determined, a treatment can begin.

I am sure that it is green. I picked him up when he was peeing because the color was off. It was green. All of her fur and everything. And his poo is a light light blight brown with a hint of green depending. He is approx. 9 months old. They are eating a food recommended to me by a friend. Purina Beyond Grain Free White Meat Chicken & Egg Recipe Cat Food is the food. Both of my other ferrets have normal color urine an poo. I've been checking consistently since I noticed the younger ferret. They all have been acting normal, playful, eating and drinking fine, which is why it never occurred to me something was wrong until today. The odor is very strong I am not sure how to describe. I usually say ammonia is the smell I can compare it too. And his poo is the same smell. I do not have pictures since I cleaned it all up off the floor right away and just started focusing on him. I hope I answered all of the questions.

You answered the questions well. I have a little more for you. Is he passing urine or stools as normal, or a little frequently? Does he look like he's experiencing any pain or discomfort? Are you able to check the gums?

So far things have been normal as far as bathroom usage, he does look uncomfortable at all. And his gums are pink like they always have been.

Please get to the vet asap, this is an emergency that cannot wait. Let your vet know the answers that Machan has received from you, but please please take your ferret in!

I would highly recommend getting to the vet. Do you have anyone who can take your little one in? This can be extremely serious and needs to see a ferret specialist to rule out infections and all sorts of issues.

Green urine can be bad news. I would get it into the vets asap.. and diarrhea in ferrets can kill them quickly.

Considering what you've described I would be vetting. The diseases that come to mind are not something you want to play around with and I would sooner you were told it's nothing that for you to suffer the loss of your little one. The strong smell and colour can be distinctive. If you cannot get the wee one in is there someone else whom you trust who could take this wee one to the vet? ciao

I have a vet appt for tomorrow morning. And he is just sleeping. I had him in my room with me for awhile but he wasn't too into it. He just kept sighing and wanted back out in his dark hole even though I made a dark makeshift bed for him. He hasn't been into play either. If he is out of the cage he is hiding underneath the baby gate that s laid out under the ping pong table. i even tried giving him his favorite treat but he turned his nose up at it. ):

This wee one is very ill. Try mixing up some all meat baby food and syringe feeding. You have to get fluids into him ciao

That's horrible to hear. How is his eating and drinking? Any changes in diarrhea? Monitor him closely and note down any out of ordinary behaviors or symptoms for your vet. Your vet will probably want to do some blood tests.

I haven't seen him eat today. I tried to get him to eat from my hand but he doesn't want too. I have a kitten bottle I used for my kitten when I got him would that work?
