Just out of curiosity has there ever been video or video clip contests? Sometimes I have something that I would love to use but it's a video and not a image. Such as this one that I would have loved to use for the 'caught in the act' competition.
I think that it would be a lot of fun but I have never seen competitions for videos.

play the video and pause it on a frame where you would like a photo and use the windows snipping tool to grab a picture.

A video contest would actually be really interesting and I think it is a wonderful suggestion for the forum. There would probably be some limitation compared to the usual Photo Contest, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't have potential. I will ask about it.

msav That's a good idea. Thank you. @machan I do too. I would love to have a video contest. Lot of pet parents usually end up with a ton of them. I sure did.

I'd be ok with it, but atm it's hard to generate interest in the photo contests. (Last few months we've had less than 10 entries & votes) We would probably have to set time limits, etc. I wish it was easier to edit videos. My email has a 10 mb limit for attachments, and when I connect my iphone by usb i get unwanted updates and have to sort thru hundreds of pics I've already downloaded but want to keep on my phone. A lot of my videos are a lot longer than the action I want to capture.

I couldn't do much with videos either but I found a solution. I made a YouTube channel and it comes with a video editor that can handle a lot at once. It took me a bit to figure it out but you simply upload videos marked at private and then you simply go to video editor drag and drop them into the timeline bar. From there you can cut the video into whatever clips that you want to show. From there instead of one long video or multiple you have one short, straight to the point clip. You can even add cute music.
I'm not all that good at it but I can make videos to post. If it's simple enough that I can do it, anyone can.

I agree youtube video editor is really easy to use and has quite a few nice features. you can snip out any non-action scenes to shorten the video. uploading is a snap using your home wifi direct to youtube, and sharing on forums is also very simple.

@machan yay! When we put video/month do we put the month that the video was filmed or the contest month. For example, HFF Video contest/Caught in the act October/2016 (Video below)
