Hi all, I was hoping for my first post on here to be something else but my baby clearly had other plans.. A little back story first: I've had my baby for about 3 weeks now, she's a little over 3 months old. I've been researching switching her to raw and have been feeding her the meats she will be eating in her diet to get her used to it along side her kibble. So far so good, she seems to prefer the meat and won't touch the kibble unless she's hungry. Today when I went to give her chicken she didn't seem super interested in it which was a little weird since she usually eats at least half of the meat up front when I give it to her. She just stashed it all under her bed... I just figured she had eaten some kibble and wasn't hungry right now. I let her out to play, all seemed fairly normal but she wasn't as hyped as usually, red flag #1. Then I noticed her poops, they seem much smaller than usual. I read that ferrets being fed raw poop a lot less, but should the poops be this much smaller? I felt her tummy and it feels like there may be something hard near her lower belly, close to her vagina. Though I've never had to feel for anything like this before so I'm unsure. She hasn't been spayed yet so I wasn't clear on if it was maybe just some glands or something. I've taken some pictures, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!

Wheb in doubt vet. Get them to do a barium x-ray. The poop size looks alright for a raw fed but you said she still eats kibble too. The color is a bit on the dark side if she has not had any organs or red meat. Better to get the x-ray and find out for sure.

I should have mentioned that she had her beef heart last night for dinner, so that probably explains the darkness. Should I try the blockage protocol before taking her to the vet maybe?

So I went out to grab some pumpkin and Vaseline for the blockage protocol.. And by the time I got back there was a nice big poop waiting for me in her litter box. Phew!
She must have just been holding it for whatever reason and that's probably the lump I was feeling.
I guess I was worried for no reason! Oh well, better safe than sorry.
Thank you very much for the help anyways!

I'm glad that you didn't have to use that vaseline and pumpkin  Keep it for your first aid kit. Oh, they're great at giving you gray hairs. Welcome to our world ciao
