Hey guys,
Less than a month ago I adopted a jill. However I have no idea where she came from or any background. She's not a marshals ferret because she has no tattoos or anything. I'll call her 5 months now. But I have no ideas if she has been spayed. Is there any outward signs I can look for to see if possible she's been spayed? I don't wanna have to shave her to look for an incision scar. ( I don't think she would let me anyway. Lol)

I'm guessing by your remark that you're in NA. There are some farms that don't tat (PV comes to mind) but do spay and descent. RC and Holden Farms both tat but in such a manner it's often very difficult to find. It's usually in the fold of the ear and can be very difficult to see. You mention adopted....from a shelter? as they usually investigate if the ferret is indeed spayed. If purchased from a third party then you can always have an ultra sound done to see if there is a uterus, or you can wait to see if she comes into season (probably won't at this time of year as they're starting to come out now). Seeing a scar is often difficult if the ferret was spayed as a baby but a vet would be able to help you if that is at all possible ciao
