So since the boys are going to have a play room, they need some play towers and tunnels! I would like to get a cat tree at some point but that will be a while because they are expensive. I will have a ton of cardboard boxes leftover so I want to make them a cardboard castle. I also want to make them a tunnel tower, a maze, shelves and tunnels on and along the walls, etc. Right now the budget is very tight so I have to stick with simple and homemade. I can get fancier as we go. I have a jig saw, cardboard boxes, tunnels, rubbermaid bins, a sander, blankets, scrap wood, plenty of nails, screws, paint, etc.... So please share some ideas with me and lots of pictures!

Ohh I'm excited to see this, I have a huge area of the living room I'm considering making into a maze, my one issue? It's the front door we never use and everyone seems to visit/deliver to that door, so everything has to me movable for unexpected guests.

I'm creative but lack space, lol. My furniture seems to make great ferret toys.

Nothing yet! Lol I can't do anything until I move in and unpack. I'm looking for ideas and pictures of things people have already done.

Well there's the usual dig boxes, rice, dirt, water. I can cut holes in each size of each box and have tubes leading of them, the tube will lead to a new box and so on. Of course each box will have a third hole for them to get in and out of with out the tubes.

You need a good coffee table/end table that has a slatted shelf to hold baskets/boxes. There's the table, then the shelf on the bottom is like this: IIIIIIIIIIIII Paulie loves when people fish for him in between. You could make something like it, or if you need some furniture keep the ferts in mind. And ... I think he just tried to steal my laundry basket ...

;D I think Kenai might get stuck! Hahaha That picture is too cute though. I have dig boxes - with the tunns between do you find that the digging material gets mixed? Like dirt gets in the rice and shredded paper gets in the dirt? I know I want to build and paint a cardboard castle... Perhaps the castle could sit on top of the dig boxes... Hmmm.... The hard part is I have to keep poor tubby Kenai in mind. Like I have so many great ideas but Kenai can't climb and jump too well so that puta some limits on what I can do. And like, just because he can get UP something doesn't mean he can get down and vice versa... Silly chub Oh and they will have Tito's cage to frolic and stash under as well which they enjoy already. Lol It's one of Kenai'a favorite sleep spots.

Why don't you get some tubing? My guys love it. It's cheap. I think I got 120 ft. You can wrap it, drape it, hang it (like I did for my guys room) That would allow even Kenai to play and he would get lots of exercises. You can make it as easy or as difficult as you choose. If you look at the side of the cage the tube is verticle, all the guys, even baby Minion has learned how to get up the tube but there is more casual grades of the black tubing which means they don't have to work near as hard to get around but they can travel great distances in these tubes. I plan to buy another length so that I can make even more tunnels for them. They aren't pretty but everyone has fun in these tunnels and they all lead to sleepy spots ciao

Heather have you ever had anyone get stuck in them where you had to take it apart?
Do you take it apart to clean?
What do you use to tape them together?
Cheapest place to buy it?
