Well, all of my ferrets are officially off of kibble!! And I have just recently started to add bits of meat to their soup, but only Nala has somewhat caught on, Stella does fine, but Wolfie doesn't eat it at all. Does anyone have any tips to get their ferrets to start eating the raw pieces? Maybe I just need to make them smaller and gradually build up the size? It would be great to get some feedback on this, thanks!

Yes, start small, I used a food processor, and I ground it up real good, covered it in EVOO and some eggshells, threw it in the food processor to mix, and put it on a plate. The next step was I blended half of it, and kept the other half in small chunks. Eventually the half I was blending would be small chunks with half medium chunks. Eventually they won't notice the difference in size, but some can be fairly picky and just not like large pieces (I believe Sherry's Willow is this way) good luck!

I followed the same routine as Fearless but I used a meat grinder. Started them with a mousse consistency and worked up to medium then large grind. I mix chunks into the large grind. Marlee struggles with the chunks so she just eats the ground meat.

You need to make the bits no larger than small slivers to start. Work up slowly from there

I had a couple who weren't too sure about chunks in their soup at first and it was frustrating, but once we got over that they decided to eat anything thrown at them. Hopefully yours take to it well too!

Oh, that's great! I'm excited, I am going to try giving the meat at their lunch time, I want to see what they think
