Hi Ferrents! Looking for a bit of advice really. I am going to take my lovely two fuzzbutts out into the wilderness next week (I'm off all week from work) for the first time! They have been in my garden and have got used to the outside noises and what it all smells like and looks like. I was just wondering, as I will be taking my carry case with me which looks like this: www.petsathome.com/shop/en/pets/dog/dog-crates-and-carriers/dog-carriers/black-fabric-carrierWhen you ferrents take your lovelies outside, how do you prepare for things like when they need to go the toilet or when they need to drink? I'm so excited to see how they are going to be in the outside world.

They just back up and potty when on the lead. They really don't care where they are lol. So yeah, some tissues and a baggie in case you are indoors somewhere is always good. Mine will drink from my glass no issue.

worst case you can bring their own water bottle and let them drink from the cap. As far as litter patrol, if you're in the wilderness, who cares? When we would walk ours around ythe neighborhood we never cleaned up unless there were witnesses. Ferret poops are pretty time, lol.

Several times now, when we've been hanging out near the house, Maisie has run back inside to use the litterbox! I keep salmon oil on me to reward her if she goes outside but she hasn't caught on to that yet. The one time we were out on a walk she did this weird thing where she flattened herself before peeing. It was in an open area (crossing a parking lot) so I figured she was instinctively protecting herself from predators (hawks, etc.). Anyway, have fun outside, and make sure they have somewhere they can hide if they feel the need to! (The carrier's probably fine. I just know Maisie likes to be near a hedge, or a wall, or anything rather than wide open space. Except when she decides to cross the road and then stops right in the middle of it. Ferrets.) Let us know how it goes

Ours don't seem to go potty outside in the grass much. However, they have no problem whatever going on the front porch. I guess I could put a litter box out there, but they probably wouldn't use it. We just rinse it off with lots of water.
