Hi guys so I'm really not sure where to post this and i hope this is in the right place but anyways I wanted to ask peoples opinions on canned ferret food? Specifically the Wysong Epigen Ferret Canned Formula. The ingredients in the beef one are; Beef, Water Sufficient for Processing, Natural Flavor, Organic Guar Gum, Mixed Tocopherols. Then in the chicken, duck, rabbit, and salmon ones the ingredients are the same aside from the main one of course. I know this is no where near as good as raw but are these better than kibble? Are they good for ferrets at all or should my babies not have these? I appreciate any and all help! EDIT: These won't be fed by themselves just as a way to add some more meat into their diet!

They don't appear to be nutritionally balanced at all. I see no organs or replacement for them (replacement is usually vegetables and fruit, which isn't good for them anyway), and no sign of calcium.

Oh I should have specified I don't mean to feed these alone, just more of a treat on the side for some extra meat!

Wysong designs their canned foods to be supplemented with this: www.wysong.net/products/cotw-dog-cat-supplement.phpThis makes sense since the canning process cooks the food (kills it) and they couldn't get the benefit of organs even if they were included. The supplement supposedly adds the nutrition that would be missing by giving a muscle meat only diet.

I don't see anything in it that'd be particularly bad for them, but I'll defer to someone who knows more about it <3

Given they would be getting extra moisture I suppose it would be good for that. And if they do like it then you have your intro to starting raw.
