We have had him since Friday. he's having issues going potty - anal prolapsing. first he had really bad diarrhea and now it's turned into little straining poops and he cries you can tell he's in pain. we took him to an emergency vet and the guy didn't do much he said he doesn't usually work with ferrets and just gave him liquids and sent us home. He has another appointment today with a ferret specialist so we will see how that goes. ( we've been using prep h on his little booty to try and keep him somewhat comfortable since yesterday before we could make it to the vet) I'm pretty sure he's either got a blockage or his anal glands are impacted. I was going to try canned pumpkin and vaseline but since we got him in at the vet today I'll let them take care of it. (I don't want to feed him that and make him poop his brains out if it's not the problem) I didn't notice any little things go missing the house is pretty well ferret proofed but you never know with them i guess. But since he's been scooting I really don't know. We are currently about to start trying to switching him to raw food diet. We have still been feeding him the marshalls he was eating we've been watering it down and also mixing it with chicken baby food. Moving forward I'd love any advice on feeding so that this hopefully does NOT happen again. I can't stand seeing my poor baby in pain like that and not playful at all.

I would suggest feeding him the Marshals without the baby food...that's probably part of your problem (depending on amounts) I am not a strong believer in using human baby food on ferrets except in the direst of emergencies. I would definitely hold off on the switch until you've figured out what you're dealing with Good luck at the vets, please let us know what happens ciao

We weren't giving him the baby food until yesterday. He's just been eating the watered down marshalls. He had a blockage. he's all good now! Super happy and energetic at home!
