Paulie has reached a couple new milestones in taking off his Pred weight and regaining muscle tone. 1) He can now climb up into the bed and into the Ikea chair from the stool again (when he remembers he can climb). 2) He can fit his fat belly under the narrow opening under my buffet's bottom shelf again! He hasn't done this since we left CT (in part, because the buffet wasn't in the parents house). But this is pretty awesome as before the buffet sat on hard wood floors and is now on carpet. He was so thrilled when he popped out from under the buffet and surprised me, he immediately dived back in to show how svelte his is getting. He still admitted has a big belly--but maybe it is more mostly that extra skin now. So proud of my boy for getting back in shape. We had some massive wardancing playtime this morning too--which flying leaps at the Momma before running away.

He probably wants me to bring home a sexy she-ferret for flirting. It would go, "Look what I can fit under." Then the she-weasel would promptly fit her tiny self somewhere he couldn't, inducing sulking.
But seriously, I am excited to see him slim down. Keeping him steadily on one NV medallion in the morning and one in the evening is definitely the right amount--3/day and he packs on the chunk. Plus, he has wider supervised free roam in my apartment--always healthy.

You go Paulie and show them how it's done. Huge hugs being sent to a sweet boy who has managed to beat the odds and is still loving life. You show them. ciao

I can't believe that a year and a half ago we were going through the lymphoma scare! He truly is a happy, healthy big boy.

More good news!!
Tonight, I got home from the grocery and let Paulie out while I put things away. When I was done, I couldn't find him in any of his usual "Dens" (the pink robe, the blankie by the bed, the blankets under the FN, the bottom drawer of my dresser). I was starting to get frantic when I thought of all his recent rediscoveries.
Opened the "second story" drawer, and sure enough, he was asleep in a shirt. The second drawer up used to be his favorite place to sleep before he lost his muscles on the pred. I think he feels safer up there. He just yawned at me like nothing was new. I gave him some snuggles and kisses though, because I was excited.
