So there has been two occassions where my ferret has chewed off peices of his toys and troubles pooping them out. He used to do this to his crinkle bag so I stopped giving him that but now he does it to his toys r us brand dog chew which is half fabric and half kong like material. I cant give him the thinner dog squeakers (even though all of my ferrets love them) because he just chews the feet off or the tails and eats them.. KONG brand toys seem to be the only thing he doesnt actually eat and i guess its because their just too thick to get through? Any tips on what to do or what brand toys are recommened for a stinker that likes to eat everything? Haha thanks guys!

a couple of mine went through a cloth chewing phase and I ended up sewing thick denim material over toys and stuff, they still played but didn't chew the denim.

You can check toys in the baby section of Walmart. I have got a couple from there.
I would get rid of all rubbery type toys. I do not buy toys with button eyes nor plastic projections.
I had to do protocol for mine eating rubbery material(iphone protector). Some ferrets on the forum have undergone surgery for eating things that they shouldn't.

Avoid all rubber and soft plastic toys. Kongs are a terrible toy for most ferrets. Using baby toys is asking for problems, they're not meant to hold up to a ferret's teeth. Even cat toys must be closely watched. ciao

Will have to agree with Heather on my suggestion of baby toys. Of the two I got, one survived. Although it was completely cloth, there was something about those cloth eyes that had to come off--which then exposed the batting. I did keep the musical canister which was inside . It was rolled around a few times and attitude became----I have been there and done that.

One baby toy thing I do often get , but I take it apart and recover it is these bell rattles. Normally I find them in quilted cow or pig looking thing. it has a body (which is the part with the bell thing in it) that looks like a tube then it has a stuffed head. A few in my group absolutely love the sound of that bell, I believe it is a suspended bell. The casing it comes in is very tough and secure. I take the casing out of the stuffed bit and crochet a cover for it that is like the eggs we often have for them.

Yes, I think I will put it in something that they can carry around. They may like it then.

Any favorite toys that people can share? I only give toys when I can monitor them after Faye ate the fur from a small alligator plush. I too am trying to find some tough toys for them to play with!

My guys love, wonkies and crochet eggs. They have to be supervised and checked frequently but they're something that is easily stashed, they enjoy chewing on them (check daily, remove as soon as damage to fibres occur), they steal them from each other and restash. ciao

Yep! I monitor them all the time with their toys but he seems to do it in the two seconds that I am not looking at him. My boys like their tubes but I will have to try some of the suggestions on here. I actually have to watch them with the tubes as well because they have been chewing into them.. it started when lychee discovered he could drag the tube lol.. so now I duct tape the ends to make them tougher..

Pvc pipe from Home Depot or Lowes and black drainage pipe that people use on end of downspouts to divert water away from house---also Lowes and Home Depot. I am funny too about outgassing of products.
