So 1 by 1 is a no go? Even for the bottom since it's cheaper.

Yay! I am really excited to see how it comes out. Your fuzzies will be playing outside in no time.
About the 1x1, would it cost too much to stagger the 1x1 over another sheet of 1x1, making the holes even smaller? You'd probably have to keep the pieces together somehow though...

It would be more expensive than buying the hardware wire stuff.

We have to wait to see what the weather is doing before building. I have the building wood already ready. Tuesday..hopefully. We can get the tractor out to level the ground and start building. Once we have the basic structure up, I just have to put up a door, hardware, and the wire. Does anyone know any good shade growing plants? I'm going to try to get ferns as I know they grow here and maybe some vines to grow somewhere. Total possible costs-> Building Wood:$ 143 Hardward:$ 25 Wire:$ 150-200 ( ordering online for bigger quanity and cheaper prices ) Door Wood 2-3 2x4's:$ 10-15 Total:$ 328 - 383 Extras to come. Ferret House On stilts: 2 hinges, Ply wood = I want to make them a house to nest in off the ground to keep the square feet from being taken. Can weasels use soft hay or is it too dusty? Pond-> 100 - 150. Plants- > I'm going to try to grab native mosses, plants and such to grow in the cage. Seating Area-> This is a think I would love to do. The front area is surounded by three trees and perfect to put a few walk stones and a bench. We have walk stones..just need to figure out a bench. oh and the final size is 10 x 10 just fyi

So....I'm waiting for my room mate to get off his butt and help. -.- I can't do everything by myself. We have the plans, the wood, the nails, etc. Hopefully I can get him to help today. Oh...and did I mention that I'm sick? And I still am pushing him to help out.

My girls can fit through 1/2" spacing. Lulabelle even managed to squeeze under a door once. Careful about fencing!!

Sorry for taking so long. :sigh: Hit a dead end when monny and dingo pasted away and than college caught up with me. I really need to get a friend over to help put the frame together. But everyone is busy.
