Does anyone order from there? Are they pretty reliable? Is their raw meat safe to use immediately or should I freeze it for a while? What about shipping the meat do they do a good job keeping it fresh while in transit? Thanks in advanced!

I haven't ordered from there before but I know that they can ship raw meat and whole prey, they do have a nice selection of meats and whole prey available and I imagine that they'd be reliable because it's a well known source.

There's a 10 lb minimum to help the meat stay frozen during transit. I ordered 10 lbs on January 19th (see order below if you're interested). It was shipped out on the 20th and I received it two days later, on the 22nd. It was very well packed, in a cardboard box lined with polystyrene and with two one-time use frozen bags in there as well. The meat is very neatly packaged in little sausage-type plastic bags. I got all fine grind for my fussy girl, and we were very pleased with it It was finer ground than a couple of alternatives bought in local stores. I'm very pleased with them and intend to use this as my main source from now on

I would assume that usually suppliers like Hare Today have fresh meats which I'm certain have been pre-frozen, and usually they stock up from reliable sources so they may be good to use straight away.

They sell human grade meat which means it is inspected like any other meat you'd find in the grocery store.

Shipping was $18.59 and they use FedEx.
BTW if there are any other HT clients out there -- is it just me, or are the red meats in blue bags, and the white meats in red?

Well I decided I had to buy from Hare Today which isn't a bad thing. I moved from Colorado to Utah and their isn't an abundance of exotic stuff. The only thing I can find for my menu is beef, lamb, and beef liver. So I needed my bone in meats and kidney and hearts. Also they were quite expensive for shipping at $48.00 which I guess isn't bad for 11 pounds of food. Another thing that sucks is I have to buy at least 10 pounds of food to order. So I was desperate and just sucked it up and bought a bunch of food. I wanted to try the gang on whole prey any ways. Maybe a little modified where I serve gutted mice, guinea pigs and quail. Those will be my bone in meals so I can feed them the organs on sunday and Thursday and I feed my muscle meats still. I would go through way to much whole prey it would be expensive.

Wow, $48 seems a lot for 11 lbs (my 10 lbs were only $19). Did you use an express option? Or could it be because you're in Utah? (I'm just one state over from HT). What do your fuzzbutts think about the food? Hopefully they like it?

What do your fuzzbutts think about the food? Hopefully they like it? It's probably because I live in Utah. I haven't tried them on it yet. The food should arrive here on Thursday. Ha they better like it. I know Freya my 3 month old will like it. She eats anything you put in front of her. (Tummy with teeth/ she's a fatty) lol Nala and Shelby will have an issue because they are a year old but I am good at coaxing them to eat different protien.

If your fuzzies like whole prey and you want to buy more, you could order from Rodentpro. They have mice, rats, guinea pigs, rabbits, chickens, and quail. They almost always have a deal where the shipping is $29 per box no matter where you live. I live in NV and got 160lbs of prey in 3 boxes. It was $87 for the shipping and $386.50 for the actual prey. Also, if you find a local supplier then you might be able to get cheap prey with no shipping costs.

My pet carnivore is good as well. I usually order from both at the same time and include a few extra I've packs on hare today. My pet carnivore is generally cheaper so I buy a lot there and just get the phesant and goose from hare today. Quail is found at the Asian markets locally in packs of 6 for like $10.50.

There aren't any asian markets around where I live. I rather not drive 3+ hours to get some quail and another 3+ to go home.
